Popular fishing spots include the nearby Opihi, Temuka, Orari, Rangitata and Pareora rivers. Before heading out, we advise you check out the New Zealand Fish and Game website or head into one of their local offices for all the regulations and safe fishing spots.

Timaru’s whitebaiting season
